Seminars

Seminars are offered to groups through tradeshow/festival events, embroidery clubs, and affiliated retailers. Individuals wanting to attend one of my workshops should contact one of these organizations in your local area or checkout the schedule below for a seminar near you.

Seminars are typically 30-45 minutes long, including a trunk show of projects that me and my staff have created around my embroidery collections.

Seminars

Thread Intimidation - Facts, Fiction, & Application

Do you wonder what to do with different threads? Do you experience problems when you try to use specialty and decorative threads in your sewing/embroidery machine? This seminar will help answer some of those questions and ease your “thread intimidation,” while teaching some important troubleshooting techniques and thread tension control tips.

*This class is the brain-child of Sheila Cheatham and is being offered through Laura’s Sewing Studio in cooperation with Snip & Pins.

Cutwork & Hardanger for Machine Embroidery

Have you ever wanted to create your own heirloom sewing? Don’t have time to sew those intricate designs by hand? Don’t have the time or patience to learn heirloom sewing by hand? Come see what you can do in just a fraction of the time that it took your grandmother or mother to do. Come and see elegantly intricate heirloom cutwork and hardanger embroidery sewn with a home embroidery machine. Yes, you can create your own legacy of heirloom treasures for your future generations.

Multi-Hoop Machine Embroidery Demystified

Do you love large machine embroidery designs, but you despair over the fact that your embroidery hoops are too small?  Learn the tips for identifying quality designs for multihoop techniques. See the tools that the pros use to make multi-hoop embroidery fun, fast and simple on home embroidery machines.

Machine Embroidery Applique for Everyone

Looking for a way to make machine embroidery even faster?  Want to combine your love of fabrics with your fascination for embroidery? Or, are you just looking for a way to use those unique scraps of fabric piling up in your stash before your spouse discovers them one weekend while you’re gone?  Come see how the blending of applique and embroidery come together to make a nearly limitless combination of projects.
