Pfaff Big Hoop Part 2

Before attaching the hoop on the sewing machine, bring up your design on the machine first. Otherwise, the embroidery unit arm will slam the hoop against the needle mechanism repeatedly. Guess how I know that one?

If your design is small and the sewing machine defaults to the 80mm hoop when you bring up your design, be sure to change it to the 120 hoop.

__________________________________________ __

Attach the hoop to the machine.

The hoop has a thumbscrew that you can loosen to allow you to slide the hoop forward and back.

__________________________________________ __

Now is the time to align your design with the X/Y coordinates on your paper template.

Slide the hoop back away from you to match the Y coordinate of the first design as closely possible.

When you get it to the position that you need, tighten the screw firmly. If you forget this step your design will sew all over the place.

Finish lining it up with the number 8 and 9 key if needed.

__________________________________________ __

Now align the center line, the X coordinate.

For my machine moving the design left 13 notches with the left arrow key is the center alignment..

__________________________________________ __

Unpin the first design paper template and that part of the master template. Roll it back out of the way.

Note: Be sure the rest of the paper template is held by at least 2 pins to prevent rotation.
