Outdoor Quilts*


	Since 1994, I’ve created outdoor quilts. The photo below is my current Spring outdoor quilt, “Pinwheels”. This is our March/April quilt aptly displayed during those windy spring months. I signed and dated this quilt March 1996. In our neighborhood, my house has acquire the title of “The Quilt House”, because I always have one hanging on my front porch.




		This Road to Jericho layout was made using the sunflower block. This layout is included in the booklet that accompanies this collection.


	I learned a lot in those early days when I sewed these quilts by adapting conventional quilt making techniques to the task of creating single layered quilts of color fast nylon fabric. Larger quilts such as these present a real challenge in creating an outdoor quilt that can be displayed on both sides, using conventional sewing techniques and tools. However, with the Outdoor Quilts Embroidery Collection, I show you how to harness the power of your embroidery machine to create beautiful, two-sided quilts you can display in a variety of ways and places about your home. Using my technique and the versatile designs in this collection, you can add color to your home, office, garden, or patio with Outdoor Quilts. There are an infinite number of hangers on the market - indoor and outdoor. Use them in your potted plants - real or otherwise. Use a hanger with suction cups to hang your outdoor quilt on your windows at home or office, or in your bathroom on the shower door or tile.
