Hoop ‘N’ Quilt
Full Size New York Beauty

Shown here on a King Size bed with my Lone Star, this New York Beauty Block is made using my Hoop ‘N’ Quilt method. This quilt is not yet completed as there are more elements I want to add to it. I’ll post them as they are completed.

This full size “13 inch” New York Beauty block allows you to make New York Beauty Quilts or combination Lone Star/New York Beauty quilts for Full/Queen/King size beds.

If you are not a quilter or simply don’t want to tackle a full size bed quilt this technique can also be used to embellish a purchased bedspread or tablecloth for a quick finished project.

NOTE: This design fits my Lone Star layout made with 11 rounds of diamonds. 11 Rounds of diamonds creates a 13 inch block area between the star points.

These New York Beauty projects go together quickly and are not stiff or bulky in any way. Rather, they lay flat, feel soft, draping like a quilt made with more traditional techniques. They are wonderful to use as bed covers, lap covers, or sofa comforter as they drape about you like any quilt in which you would bundle up for warmth.

Of course, a sleeve can be added to the backside should you wish to hang your quilt on the wall for viewing.

Original Layout

This layout makes the 4 patch look continuous all around

Original layout used in the Lone Star. Notice the points of the Lone Star meld into the blocks.

Notice the points of the Lone Star stand out prominently looking continuous with the New York Beauty points.

5x7 Designs

The only difference between the 5x7 and the 6x10 designs is that the 6x10 designs have more repeats per hoop and LSSBGL is one file in the 6x10 and two parts in the 5x7.
