The New Hoop ‘N’ Quilt
Full Size Lone Star

Shown here on a King Size bed, this 42 inch star is made using my revised Hoop ‘N’ Quilt method. This quilt is not yet completed as there are more elements I want to add to it. I’ll post them as they are completed.

This full size diamond allows you to make Lone Star quilts for Full/Queen/King size beds.

These Lone Star projects go together quickly and are not stiff or bulky in any way. Rather, they lay flat, feel soft, draping like a quilt made with more traditional techniques. They are wonderful to use as bed covers, lap covers, or sofa comforter as they drape about you like any quilt in which you would bundle up for warmth.

Of course, a sleeve can be added to the backside should you wish to hang your quilt on the wall for viewing.

If you are not a quilter or simply don’t want to tackle a full size bed quilt this technique can also be used to embellish a purchased bedspread or tablecloth. Also, hints are given for making a stand-alone star/starburst.

For smaller or larger projects simply add fewer or more rounds of diamonds.A star with 5 rounds is 24” across point to point, 7 rounds 32”, 9 rounds 40”, and 11 rounds 42”.
