ALTERNATE HEM LAYOUT

With a little design editing you can create a hem with an extra row of lace

I found this hand dyed cotton gauze fabric at my local Hobby Lobby store.

Lisa Shaw at BuzzTools has created easy to follow directions on how to edit lace designs using BuzzEdit.  Click here.

BuzzEdit is an affordable, easy to use embroidery editing program. It is available for FREE TRIAL DOWNLOAD at BuzzTools website

From the Lace Dreams Sophia CD, open the folder labeled the size garment you are making (S-M-L-XL)

Select the design that looks like this

Remove the scallops on the 2 long sides.

Save it on your harddrive with a different name.

The finished altered design should look like this.

This altered design will now be the middle row of the hem.

Open the design that looks like this.

Use this design for the top row of the hem.

Use the template printed on the pattern to determine how many of these designs you need to make to fit around the hem.

This is the new layout shown in an ‘exploded view’ and sewn together.
