Molas and Hmong’s The Way designs.

Rebecca created some really cool projects with these collections. We have been hearing from folks all over the country how much they like her ideas.
Way to go Rebecca!

My second in a series of collections based on the Hmong-like embroidery designs. Unlike traditional Hmong that involves intricate hand cutwork, and fine-needle applique, my collections are built on the use of multiple layers and shades of embroidery thread.

While they are not the Hmong to which you are accustom, they are breathing in their own right.
What's more, they can be done completely from your embroidery machine.

This collection is larger than the original and includes a set of completed blocks and also borders and separates based on the same motif so that you may expand your embroidery experience with this unique art.

In addition, I've included some bi-color files and multi-color versions of the files for making this collection even more versatile.

When I was sewing these I thought they looked so pretty before the last color was sewn,
I scanned some of them to show you how they look without the last color sewn.
These were scanned while still in the hoop so they are a little fuzzy since they were not flat on the glass of the scanner.

I like to make something out of my sewouts so I appliqued the black squares onto a red jacket and clipped the edges 1/2” deep at 1/16” intervals for fringed edges.

To wear under the jacket - I used the border/corner combo.
