“Taking Embroidery Beyond the Hoop”

Step 1
Locate the Downloaded File
If you followed the directions from How to Download Purchased Designs, your downloaded designs are on your C drive.

Scroll down to the folder “My Designs”
Click the folder to open it.

Below you can see that the folder is open and the downloaded file is in the right side window.

If you have Windows Explorer set up to see file extensions Note: The file is an .exe file and not a .zip file
An exe file contains the designs and instructions zipped up in 1 file but also installs the designs in a predetermined location so you can easily locate them

Step 2
Open the File
Right click on the file.
It gives you a drop down menu.
Select “Open”

Step 3 - Optional
Run The File
Depending on what security software you have on your computer you may get something like this.
Click on “Run”

Step 4
Read the Dialogue Box - VERY IMPORTANT
This dialogue box tells you that it will install the embroidery designs onto your C drive in a folder called “Laura’s Sewing Studio” and in a sub-folder named the same as the designs you purchased. In this case “Hardangish Hearts”.
Click OK

Step 5
Unzip
Click Unzip. That’s all you need to do.

Step 6
Files Unzipped
This dialogue box tells you that the files were unzipped successfully.

Step 7
Locate the Unzipped Files
Locate the unzipped files by going to your C drive.
Scroll down to the folder  “Lauras’s Sewing Studio”
Scroll down to the sub-folder with the name of the design/collection you purchased. In this case“Hardangish Hearts”
Open the folder and you can see the files listed in the right side window.
You can see the embroidery files and the instruction file, in this case the pdf file.

Notice the blue information bar at the top of Windows Explorer shown below.
It says C:\Laura’s Sewing Studio\Hardangish Hearts
